During 01-03 March 2022 From 01-03 August 2019, in VangVieng District, Vientiane Province, the LACP conducted a procurement refresh training for 05 target provinces and the Technical Department of Ministry of Industry and Commerce. The meeting was chaired by Mr. Phouthon Siriphanthong, Project Director of Laos Agriculture Competitiveness Project, to be honored to attend the meeting by Head and Deputy Director of Agriculture and Forestry of 05 Target Provinces and Deputy Director General of the department of Planning and cooperation of Ministry of industry and commerce, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, Provincial Project Coordinator, and technical staff totally 38 people.
The purpose of this training is to review the procurement work for provincial staff in 05 target provinces and technical departments, which is reported on the bidding procurement of the construct irrigation project in recent years and also disseminated the issues found in the bidding for construction projects in the past year, regulations and comment from the World Bank, bidding forms, staff appraisals, contract renewals, procurement of construction and irrigation works, etc.
At the end of the meeting, groups were set up to conduct joint bidding exercises on the construction of the irrigation project so that the provincial procurement staff could have a deeper understanding of the project and can be used in real work.
