The kick-off meeting for the 4th implementation support mission of LACP via Video Conference was help on 08 June 2020, at 101 room, Department of Planning and Fiance, Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. The meeting was chaired by Dr. Phommy Inthichack, Duputy Director General of Department of Planning and Finance, with representative from technical department from Ministry of Agriculture and forestry, Ministry of Industry and Commerce, Provincial Agriculture and Forestry, Provincial Industry and Commerce, World Bank, SNV Netherlands Development Organisation, International Rice Research Institute and National Project Management Official.
The purpose of this workshop is to report on the progress of the project implementation, to discuss the progress of the project management plan for the first 6 months of 2020 and next year, as well as to discuss the project implementation statuses in the early 2020 such as: advantages, weakness and constraints of the activities for each component.
During the first 6 months of implementation of 2020, the project was implemented 04 component: 1) Improved Agriculture Efficiency and Sustainability 2) Enhanced Agriculture Commercialization 3) Project Management 4) Contingent Emergency Response. Which have been implemented in Departments and Institutions of MAF, MOIC and 5 target provinces. These include the hiring of consultants for project implementation, especially to support technical departments and to support value chain management, farmer group, production group, seed multiplication group and writing investment plan. Disseminate technical knowledge to provincial and district official on seed production group, GAP, establishing group and other experiment by the central technical departments, as well as focusing on capacity building on procurement management, financial management and others.
