Vientiane Province, 20 September 2019. The Meeting on Third Mission of Project Implementation Support of World Bank took place at Departments of Agriculture and forestry of Vientiane Province. The meeting was co-chaired by Mrs. Singkham Phongsavanh, vice-governor of Vientiane Province and Mr. Nicola Pontara, country manager of the World Bank, with representatives from technical Provincial Agriculture and Forestry, Provincial Industry and Commerce, World Bank Team and National Project Management Official.
The main purpose of this meeting is to report on the results of implementation of the Vientiane Provincial Agriculture Project in early year 2019, which has completed the establishment of seed multiplication groups, production groups and rice milling group. In addition, the project area was surveyed in Ban choum, Ban Chang and Ban Boung Pao on the improvement of irrigation system for the area of rice seed and vegetable varieties.
At the last section meeting, the participants also exchanged ideas and discussed issues, difficulties in implementing the program to ensure continued implementation of the targets
